All operators within the Department are expected to represent the department with positive manners while actively on shift or representing the department in any capacity.
Department of Transportation personnel are expected to follow all server and department regulations and policies at all times. They should remain subordinate to all higher ranking members no matter the situation
All department personnel are expected to utilize SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar) at all times while representing the department. They should represent themselves in a professional manner.
Below is the Department's chain of command; you are expected to follow this at all times and raise concerns appropriately. If you have any concern, request, or report, you must contact the rank above you first. Your first form of contact should not be the exectutive board.
Teamwork and cooperation between personnel is the key foundation for the Department of Transportation. All personnel are expected to work together professionally and safely. It is important for all members to understand their role and responsibilities within the Department.
Callsigns should be made up of letters, a “-“, then 2 numbers that depend on your rank. This structure should be followed when you represent the department.
DOT-XX —> Is used for general utility vehicles and any other vehicle that do not fall under the other 2 categories
TOW-XX —> Is used for tow units to the exception of the heavy wrecker
HOD-XX —> Is used by the Heavy Operations Division
01 —> Director
02 —> Deputy Director
03 —> Chief Of Operations
10 - 19 —> Field Supervisors
20 - 29 —> Crew supervisor
30 - 89 —> Operators
90 - 99 —> Probationary Operators
Different operators can use the same callsign but must change it if it is already in use by another operator.
All department personnel are expected to maintain a professional presence while representing the department, this includes wearing the proper uniform and accessories. All custom uniforms must be approved via a modmail ticket. Utilizing the incorrect uniform or inappropriate accessories may result in a disciplinary action.
Tattoos are permitted provided they are not offensive or distracting. Hair is to be of natural colour, with subtle highlights or streaks if desired.
All operators should ensure they are communicating with the scene command at all times. Many scenes will often have Fire & Rescue and or Lakeview Enforcement on scene. It is therefore important to understand the scene command structure.
The highest-ranking Department of Transportation member should be taking command for the DOT. This scene command should be in communication with the scene command of LCFR and/or DPS at all times. All communications to other departments should be run through the scene command to ensure effective communication and outcomes on the scene.
Opposite Lanes of Traffic - When turning sharp corners or on scenes, operators are permitted to use opposite lanes of travel provided the road is clear and traffic control is in place.
Right of Way - DOT vehicles are to ensure to yield to all Emergency vehicle travelling on blue lights.
Remaining a Safe Distance - All operators should be leaving a 5-6 second gap between themselves and the vehicle in front of them.
Safe Braking Distance - All operators should be slowing well in advance of intersections to allow time for their vehicle to slow to a stop safely.
Overtaking- General overtaking practices should be observed when needed; however, operators must respect other road users when doing so.
Standard Traffic Laws – All DOT operators and representatives are to follow all road traffic laws at all times.
